Best Start Kindergarten Assessment

Wednesday 29 January 2019 to Friday 31 January 2020

Your child will participate in the Best Start Kindergarten Assessment during a 45 minute session on either Wednesday 29 January, Thursday 30 January or Friday 31 January 2020. These sessions will be set once classes are made, as your child will be assessed by his/her teacher for 2020. You will be notified of the day, date and time for your child’s session via a letter in December. If you require a particular day, please note this on the attached page and we will do our best to accommodate any requests.

The first day of school for Kindergarten will be Monday 3 February 2020.

This schedule is open to all families who have submitted an Application to Enrol form. However, please be reminded that non-local placement is dependent on the demand from local enrolment and at this stage out-of-area enrolments will not be available. Should this demand change, non-local applications will be considered through panel selection. Once this process has been completed, those concerned will be notified regarding the outcome of all such applications.

If you have asked yourself these, or any other questions, NLPS offers parents an information session to have these and other questions answered during a school readiness session of the orientation process.

The ‘Getting Ready’ school readiness information session is designed to provide information about what is expected of children starting school and suggestions for you and your child as you prepare. It is also hoped you will be reassured in knowing that each individual child will be supported in this important transition and that we plan experiences based on what your children bring to school.
